Gardening in North Dakota

Growing vegetables on the plains

vegetable garden in the plains

My name is Lloree Dickens. I reside in the plains region of North Dakota. I’ve been gardening off and on for several years. I own a small ranch with two beautiful dogs and two beautiful horses on the outskirts of a small community called White Shield. Living next to Lake Sakakawea keeps me connected to nature’s beauty. The best thing about gardening is that my horses are a constant supervising component and watch every time I’m out caring for the garden. I am a huge fan of nature and gardening. There’s nothing better than eating straight from garden to table! My obsessions with gardening are the colors of love and nutrients that are produced. Anything made and grown with love is my definition of true healing, balance, and connection to this beautiful Mother Earth we live on. Gardening is like dancing with nature!

This is one of the most moving posts I have seen on this forum. You paint an idyllic picture of nature, animals and freshly grown food. Life as it was intended to be -surrounded by orange glads and pink coneflowers. Amazing. Thank you.

Beautiful pictures and scrumptious looking vegetables. The sunlit pic of the squash is superb.

I love the shots of the wide open spaces that you get to enjoy. Such a different outlook from here in hilly, heavily forested southern Indiana.

Wow, it was so nice to see your world out in the plains, so different than S. Western Pennsylvania where I live.
It's like a dream seeing all that spacious land and sky.
Your garden is just amazing - so picture perfect and healthy.
I love the photo with the bird feeders and chairs in the middle of the spacious plains.
