I bought 3 young acer griseum saplings of about 3 ft at my local arboretum plant sale about 15 years ago. they are now about 15 Ft tall and in a mixed tree and shrub bed. There have been no deer munching, no insect trouble or other attacks. The bark is glorious all year long and the fall color is excellent. My water table is high in the winter and spring and they are unaffected, They are elegant and easy, I prune to shape when I think about it which they tolerate. I recommend themwithout reservation.

I bought a larger one and the following year I purchased a smaller one just because everyone noticed it and always asked what kind of tree it was. Both are planted in gardens with ornamental trees and bushes around them. The birds love them also.
