Today’s photo, the last one of 2011 (Wow!), was taken by assistant editor Antonio Reis. Antonio says, “This is yet another whimsical feature at Sticks and Stones Farm in Newtown, Connecticut. I love how these snarling, curvy branches wend their way upwards and form this novel take on an arbor. The lichens growing on their sides also add a pretty verdigris effect. Think of this as a pictorial “goodbye!” to 2011 as we enter the new year and, soon enough, spring. In the meantime, let’s weather coming snowstorms by planning the garden ornaments we can make with the branches sure to be scattered by blustery winds.” Happy New Year, everyone!! See you next year.
Oh hey, make it your New Year’s resolution to send me photos of your gardens!!
