Very hardy. Requires minimal care. Deer don't touch it. It will take over a flower bed but usually takes several years before it needs to be thinned. Be sure to wear gloves when handling it. The sap is very irritating. One of my favorite plants for at least 20 years.

I love this plant for its foliage AND winter interest. Leaves die back in summer and return in fall. Flowers and berries are incidental though interesting.
