Size does matter :) This is one impressively large hosta with leaves the size of turkey platters in a beautiful chartreuse. In the upper south or lower plains like Tulsa, Sum and Substance does very well in a location that receives full sun in the morning but shade from noon onward. However, even in almost full shade it has done remarkably well. It's an outstanding hosta even in tough, dry conditions as I've neglected it from time to time while away. Transplants nicely with a little pampering for a couple of weeks or so afterwards.

Very large, slug and snail resistant, and requiring part day sun in all but the most searing summer-sun conditions in order to maximize its yellow cast, 'Sum and Substance' is a worthy cultivar.
