Using stumps near the house wasn’t a good idea but it looks so good :-(

flippersquirrel | Posted in Garden Photo of the Day on

I’m in northern West Virginia. We have a lot of deer and other critters so I keep my plants near the house within the boundary of a 1933 retaining wall. Creeping Jenny has become a critter of another sort, I like the bright green but it is trying to take over. I enjoy moving containers around with the changes in the growth cycle. After we had to take down an ash tree, I decided to use the stumps to elevate some of the containers, it worked well but we started seeing carpenter ants in the house, so I’m going to be moving the stumps away from the house.

Bummer. I love using whatever I have sitting around to elevate my containers too. Often I turn unused ones as a pedestal. I know you are thinking, how can you have an unused container, LOL.
