When choosing plants for this garden bed, designer Rebecca Batchie looked up and took into account the red of this classic barn when she chose the red and white lily. By matching the two, she made the barn a true part of the picture, not just a background.

    Perfect explanation of the special value of this particular plant choice/design. I had another, possibly comical, thought. If the plant to the right of the lilies is nicotiana (?) and if the barn were a tobacco barn?............!!
