If only it could be so serene in Japan now. Such terrible devastation there.

I got a chance to visit my son who was stationed in Japan and their love of gardening is amazing. "Serenity and scale" are the key words to describe it. They also had some really neat garden tools. My thoughts are with them during their massive crisis.

We visited this Chicago Garden 2 years ago and I recognized this photo as I had taken many photos myself of this lovely Japanese Garden. It reminds me also of the many Japanese Gardens we saw in Japan 5 years ago....so serene and beautiful...but high maintenance for sure.
Let us pray for Japan and its people, as we gaze upon this photo today, that God would restore their hearts and spirits and that He would help them heal their land to it's former beauty.

So beautiful and serene, a fitting tribute to the people of Japan who are coping with unbelievable tragedy with such grace and patience. A lesson to us all my heart goes out to them.

The Chicago Botanic Gardens is such a treasure, if you are ever in the area you really must head to Glencoe just to wander for a few hours. The Japanese garden was created many years ago and only grows more beautiful every day.
