Botanical Name: Tropaeolum majus 'Vanilla Berry' troe-pay-OH-lum MAY-jus Common Name: Indian cress, Nasturtium Genus: Tropaeolum
This cultivar of the old-fashioned species has a mounding habit and grows to 12 inches tall. It bears cream blossoms with strawberry blotches. 
Noteworthy characteristics: These annuals are native to South America. Use them as edging, in herb gardens, for covering banks, or in hanging baskets and other containers. The round leaves and five-petaled flowers are edible.
Care: Grow in moist, well-drained soil in full sun. T. majus flowers best when grown in lean soil.
Propagation: Sow seeds indoors in early spring, or in situ in mid-spring.
Problems: Caterpillars, flea beetles, black aphids, slugs, whiteflies, viruses.
