‘Maggie’ Bourbon rose

Rosa ‘Maggie’

ROE-sah Audio

This deeply fragrant rose produces rounded double blossoms of mauve-red in spring and fall. It grows to 6 feet high and wide.

Noteworthy CharacteristicsBourbon roses usually have fragrant blossoms borne in spring or early summer and often again in fall. They are sometimes grown as climbers up a wall, arch, or trellis. Ideal for borders or hedges, they make excellent companions to herbaceous perennials.

CareGrow in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Provide good air circulation, and remove fallen leaves to help prevent disease. When dormant, prune lightly or back by up to one-third, reducing side shoots by one-half to one-third. To renovate, prune one in four or five shoots from the base.

PropagationTake softwood cuttings when bloom initiates in spring to summer; take hardwood cuttings in fall.
