Good morning, gardeners! As a nearly lifelong gardener, I’m slightly embarrassed to say I’ve never planted dahlias and part of the reason for that is I get overwhelmed trying to pick cultivars. Do you grow dahlias? What are your favorites? I’m thinking to plant some mainly for cut flowers.

I always grow dahlias from seed. It's very easy! You don't know exactly what you will get, but if you're not attached to a specific cultivar it can be a great way to start and then you can save the tubers of your favorites. I usually order the seeds from Johnny's.
