A little bit of fall is on the way.

| Posted in Midwest Gardening on

When I was in my garden this week the stalks of the Anemone robustissima tomentosa are full of flower buds.  It won’t be long until this fall blooming favorite of mine will be in bloom.  It typically stays in bloom until mid to late November.   What is making you happy in the garden this week?

Very nice! I'm trying to be patient with mine here in CT. Probably September.

In our area (S. WI), the Lespedeza thunbergii 'Gibraltar' is getting ready to bloom. Hard to believe this is one year of herbaceous growth exploding into an arching shrub-sized mound of late summer color!
