A Safe Garden Wedding in the Time of COVID

A bit of joy in a difficult year

A stone outdoor fireplace set in a garden

In the past year, lots of the messages to the GPOD have mentioned how important gardens have been to all of you in dealing with the COVID restrictions and keeping emotionally healthy during this difficult time. But today, Rhonda Molin in southeastern Pennsylvania is sharing a pretty amazing way she was able to use her garden to safely celebrate something wonderful.

Due to COVID, we had our daughter’s wedding in our backyard on October 3, 2020. We used white mums with black ornamental peppers, and we added lighting where we thought it was needed. It was so much fun. I would do it again!

Perennials in a gardenRhonda’s garden is lovely, with lots of layers of perennials and shrubs looking great for the October COVID-safe wedding.

To submit, send 5-10 photos to [email protected] along with some information about the plants in the pictures and where you took the photos. This is much more beautiful than any other venue they could have chosen - your daughter and son in law are so fortunate that you are obviously a wonderful gardener! Congratulations to the happy couple and to you for providing what must have been a magical wedding day!
