Not many plants can add the level of texture and drama to a garden that ‘Lucifer’ crocosmia (Crocosmia ‘Lucifer’, USDA Hardiness Zones 6-9) can. Its lance-shaped, corrugated leaves are a study in themselves, but it’s the scarlet flower spikes that bring to mind the Fibonacci sequence, the divine proportion, and fractals.
