Garden Photo of the Day

A Canadian Garden

By Kim Charles

Mary Jane Mulhern from Ontario Canada, shows us her special space for morning coffee.

"I live on Lake Rosalind in Bruce County, Ontario.  It's a small inland lake and my garden is over the septic bed.  Thus flowers and not vegetables.  I enjoy sitting in it for morning coffee."

LOVE that opening shot with the Sun flare!! Those beams streaming in perfectly captured the moment!!! Beautiful tapestry of plantings and textures! While I think I would Love to be in your mornings this time of year instead of here, (mid 80's and sticky first thing....) I'm not sure I could handle y'all's winters. I hear the cold seasons are serious up there!!

A very lush Canadian Garden! A place not only good for coffee, it is good for all functions. You could hold a wedding in the garden. I also felt so good looking at your garden and drinking my coffee right now. How big is your garden? Thanks for sharing.

Lovely and lush. What a delightful spot to enjoy your morning coffee (& afternoon tea & evening glass of wine). Thanks for helping me realize why hydrangeas and peonies I planted last summer in a foundation bed below my master bedroom windows have grown like weeds. They are planted over the septic field. Wonder if I could have it extended all over my landscape. ;-) Son-in-law does vegies, so I don't have to. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Mary Jane. Hope it won't seem rude of me if I plop down beside you and enjoy all the magical ambiance of this special spot of yours. I see several benches so maybe a few more fellow gpod-ers will join our little get together. Everything is thoroughly lovely and it's totally understandable why it calls out to you. Do you also get to see most of from the house windows while you're indoors?

Good morning, Mary Jane. Your coffee drinking area looks like a place that would be used often at our house. Beautiful plantings and it all looks quite lush. Thanks for sharing.

I can almost hear the birds singing in the trees, Mary Jane. You've created a lovely peaceful spot where you can greet the day.

Hi Mary Jane. I love it when I see a home/garden connection that appears natural, not contrived, and seamless. You have achieved this with your blue foliage, gray stone, scrim-like foliage and trees that mimic the verticality of your house cladding. Great job! I would enjoy spending time there.

Absolutely gorgeous, a perfect paradise and to think people think nothing much grows up this way. I'm sure even the coffee tastes better in your lovely garden!

A wonderful spot to enjoy your coffee, and all subsequent beverages. A great collection of plants to beautify your home. They flow together nicely.
