Garden Photo of the Day

Magic and Mystery

A Kansas garden built around a hundred-year-old farmhouse.

Heavenly Blue morning glories (Ipomoea tricolor 'Heavenly Blue', annual) catching the morning sun.

Laurie Fraser writes:
I live in a hundred-year-old farmhouse on the corner in a small Kansas town. Over the last fifteen years I have planted my garden and it’s full of magic and mystery.  The squirrels and birds love it as much as we do. It’s always growing and evolving and now that I’m retired I’m just going to build a hobbit hole and live out there!

Foxgloves (Digitalis purpurea, zones 4 – 8) in front of roses ‘Munstead Wood’ and ‘James Galway’

Why can't I see the comments on GPOD. I am logged in.

Your garden is lovely Laurie. Love to see more with your old farmhouse.

It looks like you were the only one who posted a comment Catherine. Let's give it a few days, ok?

I agree with Catherine, your garden is lovely Laurie. It looks like you've had a lot of fun and will continue to do so. Do send photos of your hobbit hole (with you smiling in it) when you've completed your project. Thanks for sharing.

I can just imaging hobbits in your garden, Laurie. Love the ethereal blue of the morning glories.

Wow... Lovely photos. So hard to find the lambs ears with the stalks... Which I love for bees. Roses and Clematis makes me long for June !!!!

Great pictures of your corner garden. Love the ethereal blue morning glories and the corner bed with reds, pinks and whites. Do share again as so many GPODers were not able to comment on your garden due to comments being down during the change over to the new Fine Gardening website.

Laurie, these are beautiful! If I lived closed to you, I'd go out of my way to walk by your place. Hopefully, spring is not far off, so we can get back out there.
