The Hunt for the Best Heucheras

A plant expert tells us which cultivars stand out from the rest

Length: 4:14

Coral bells (Heuchera spp. and cvs., USDA Hardiness Zones 3-8) make excellent foliage plants for full sun to part shade gardens, and there are literally dozens to choose from. With so many cultivars available, how can a gardener know which ones are the best?

Lucky for us, Allan Armitage has grown thousands of heucheras over the years. In this video, he takes us into the trial gardens at the University of Georgia, where he is a professor, and shares some of his favorites.
