Fences are integral parts of some gardens, but they can be inconvenient to work around. So when my wife, Judy, and I built a fence around our garden, I came up with a different way to attach the sections to the posts. At the top corners, 3/8-inch lag bolts run through nylon sleeves and act as hinge points. The bottom corners are pinned with bolts that slide in and out of holes in the posts. When I need to work behind the fence, I just slip the bottom pins back, rotate the section up, and insert a prop to hold up the section until I'm done.
