After the storm

marti_n_midwest_moderator | Posted in Midwest Gardening on

Summer storms wreaked havoc in my area.  Massive trees were ripped apart, snapped in half or just uprooted.  The damage created changed the landscape.  As sad as this was, there is always an upside, we can plant a greater variety of trees. I have been adding more diversity and native trees on the acreage we manage, where 60 trees were lost. Hackberry, Exclamation Sycamore, Patriot Elm and Catalpa are the shade tree picks.  What would you choose if you had to replace your shade trees?
