Here I would like to present a couple of pictures of my garden in Nothern Lithuania. It is sandwiched between a small river and a pine forest. The garden is in the process of development. Myself I am mature gardener. First two gardens were developed with my father. Now my son, Rapolas, helps me at this garden. The place is an old farm with old apple trees. My wife has planted many flowers. I am more interested in trees and shrubs. Recently I began to plant apple trees from seeds. Look forward to result :)" Rokas, your property is dream-like! Rokas, i LOVE your garden every square inch of it. i see not only a garden but a family. the photos with the mist, that third photo with the forest and dark clouds, the swing from the tree, the hydrangea and spirea the natural grass and finally the house at night with a lighted window. this has been a real treat for me and i thank you for sharing your photos. i can't imagine having the patience to grow an apple tree from seed, i'm guilty of wanting everything right now! you really do have a beautiful place to call home, i want to live there too!

There is 50 years old log house with the whitewashed ancient oven. I try to maintain the old character of the house and place.
There are plenty of birds around. To see family of swans - usual sighting :)

Rokas,I want to feel like a kid and go for a swing and run across the grassy field,oh to be a kid again. You have a lovely piece of property and I think you are very lucky to garden with your son Rapolas. My grandfather had an apple orchid and so when I was reading about you and your gardens my wonderful memories came flooding back.I will look very forward to seeing your gardens grow. Please keep us caught up on your progress.
Yes, it is an old farm. I had to transform it, tio return to a relaxed shape. But from the begining there was very relaxing atmosphere :) There is orchard with old apple trees. Now I am planting new one.

This is an amazing piece of land and fantastic garden. How cool that it has become a family endeavor - to be admired for sure. I really love the very natural appeal it all has, and certainly the forested surroundings and river. How exciting to have so much space to eventually add your personal touch and gardening sense. This garden is situated in the center of the biggest forest area of Lithuania. It borders two nature parks. The garden has unique atmosphere :)
Rokas, your property certainly sings a beautiful song...one that communicates serenity and happiness. Any garden scene that includes such a generous tumble of large white flower heads as your second picture showcases has my attention. Are they from a viburnum or hydrangea bush?
Yes, it hydrangea. Flowers are speciality of my wife. I would love to spend more time in the garden :)
Rokas, thanks for sharing your beautiful photos of your great property. That's so cool that you are planting apple trees from seeds. I read a great story all about apples and their origins. I don't know if it is true, but it said that virtually no apple tree grown from seed is alike because of the genetic diversity in them. This is also a treat because my wife's maternal grandparents emigrated to the United States from Lithuania. We may never see it in person, but it is grand to see the photos of your home in Lithuania. Thanks!

Gardening is very popular in Lithuania.
How wonderful. I never really understood how different apples could taste until we started visiting orchards and picking apples ourselves, instead of buying them at the store. I read that you make cider, too! Thanks for sharing your beautiful, God-blessed property. cheers,

Well, I have been taking photos for at least 45 years. And working in the gardens. This is my fourth garden. But it is unique. It is so nice to go out in August at night. And to observe shooting stars.

I was looking for "scarlet kale seeds" on the internet and amazon found me some and when I received them in the mail they had come from Radviliskis Lithuania! What chance is that! These are beautiful pictures. I love the last one with the silhouette of the house with that lighted window----very evocative. How long have you been gardening there? Do you have any idea how long it will take the apple trees grown from seeds to get to real apples hanging on those trees? It will be beautiful when they begin to bloom for you not to mention the good apples for eating. The trees and shrubs are lovely but I would really like to see some of your wife's flowers when they begin to bloom this spring and summer. Send more pictures please.
I started to care about this place 10 years ago. But since 8 years I have been posted outside my country, I could work only during summer breakes. The apples grown from the seeds, they are from distant country. So I brought only seeds. They grow third year already. Hope they will bloom in three years...
