I hope there is some seating just out of camera range, Debby, because your courtyard nook is so pretty and has the wonderful sounds from the fountain. The plants you have selected have very appealing luminosity and give off a very welcoming vibe...to humans and garden critters! It's always such a good feeling to do a project and be happy with it...congrats.
Thank you Debby for more inspiration. I feel like putting my chair in front of that part of you garden and sit down with a cup of coffee and take in the view and become one with nature.
I (we) too down-sized 4 years ago so that we could have time to do what we enjoyed doing other than spending every weekend working on the large lawn and cleaning a large house. Now we have a two bedroom house and a smaller lawn/yard. My wife has her fairy garden and I am in the process of creating a Japanese/Zen garden. I had help from a Feng Shui consultant to give me ideas on plants and placement of. So far from what I have done people who stop in to view the garden say it feels so relaxing just to be there. I am about a third into the project and taking my time to complete it as I wait for garden to tell me when to proceed. This is my 3 year into the project. Mother nature is so calming

Tight and right. Great use of minimum space for maximum impact. It's a delightful corner. And the gargoyle fountain is a nice touch...I like the gothic contrast to the bright plantings.

It *is* charming and well-done! Although my yard is significantly larger than a courtyard, eventually space forces me to make strategic choices. You've met that challenge well. Congratulations!
This is really pretty. Small spaces are so challenging, but can be awesome when done correctly. I just finished installing a client's courtyard garden that's only about 70 sq ft. I felt like I really accomplished something, and so did you! Congrats.
Hi Debby. I love your pretty garden corner. Your placement and selection of beautiful plants is done so well. What are the trees? Do they flower? Is it a shady area? Just so pretty and peaceful. The fountain and the gazing ball and pots add just the right touch too. So nice. Thank you for sharing.

Isn't it wonderful how, when plants are concentrated in a special place, we are able to really appreciate their beauty and complexity. You have chosen your plants with great care and it is all cool and refreshing around the fountain. A lovely place to sit a be calm.

The trees are weeping Japanese Cherry's and the blossoms in spring are breathtaking. The area is very shady, and the soil - clay - holds water (to the extent I lost my Japanese Maple through root rot in the spring.) Thank you all for your wonderful comments! And absolutely just out of range of the camera, a place to sit and think about how I must be disciplined in my new small space......
