Susie Egan is the owner of Cottage Lake Gardens in Woodinville, Washington. Susie came to the Northwest in 1978, fell in love with its beauty, particularly with its amazing pallet of native flora. After a long career in law firm management she retired to pursue a second career in the field she loves: horticulture. She has studied horticulture for many years and in 2006 completed the King County Master Gardening program afterwards serving as a mentor for the program in 2007.

Susie is a member of the Northwest Horticultural Society, the American Horticultural Society, the Arboretum Foundation, the Northwest Perennial Alliance, the Washington Native Plant Society, the Hardy Fern Foundation, the Chase Garden, and the Kruckeberg Botanic Garden. She also assisting the Woodinville Water District document their plant collection.

Cottage Lake Gardens has been on the Woodinville Garden Club Garden Tour, the Master Gardener Tour, the Native Plant Society’s Garden Tour and is regularly visited by several local garden clubs. The gardens house one of the largest Trillium botanical collections in the country.

Her dream is to share the beauty and joy of gardening with others.
