Re: Wrapping Up Raleigh - Really!

Billy it was great to meet you in person. Except for that big wart on your nose and the fact that you are only 3 feet tall, you are very charming. I did enjoy seeing you host the awards on Garden World Report with Shirley. And I think my most memorable impression of you was your gentlemanly manner. I hope to see you again so very soon. Your write up about my home state is lovely. My son is a NC State grad and he will love this too.

Re: Too Bad My Dog's Color Blind - Sizzling Hot Colors of Summer

I use to live on Vandenberg AFB just above Lompoc and we had fog every day. The Indians called it the land of the plague. It was nice to drive down to Santa Barbara and get some sunshine and see the color. What a truly beautiful city! Fun to know that you were responsible for a lot of what I was seeing. Wish I had known you at the time.

Re: Why Not Replace Your Plants With Styrofoam?

Roots are a problem down here. Some landscapers forget/don't know/never learned that roots will dig up everything. Dried up planters don't look so hot either. Or they become trash cans. Some kids these days think that mall flower containers are a place for soda cans and gum wrappers. The smokers use them for ashtrays. It's disgusting and i know there is a better fix if a good designer came in and thought about it for a couple of nanoseconds.

You could still have a planter but make it so tall that only 10 foot tall giants can reach them. Using the wrong plants is worse than having none at all.
