Re: This plant's future is in your hands...

I was surprised to see such a healthy, huge hydrangea. It is a focal point that adds interest to your lovely house. I think the porch step area is comfortably large enough and maybe using a creative porch roof (lattice, etc.) would accommodate a renovation while keeping peace for the owners.

Re: A waterfall of foliage

Nice as a waterfall - it is quite a fast grower.. Hope this plant doesn't "escape".

Re: A book-matched set

What a nice way to add height to one side of a gentle slope. Nicely done

Re: Dress up your pots for Easter!

That photo brought a smile! Thanks for such an easy idea to create a gift.

Re: Should it be called mountain rue?

I enjoyed the native Thalictrum fendleri , var.Polycarpum (Mountain Rue) grown in Carpinteria CA. A light spirited, 2-5 ft.tall perennial.

Re: Oliver the Potted Prince

Your photo should be on a ad cover for "Container Plants." It certainly would bring smiles and encouragements to "go with the flow" type gardening. Maybe I'll get some gopher photos to smile about.

Re: To fence or not to fence

Having that open net, wire fence certainly gives that space some breathing room as well as light. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Self-sown serenity

You have to be one of the luckiest gardeners I have heard of - to have self sowing plants that can arrange so lovely a getaway space. The reds are very striking.

Re: Let a clematis ramble

What a great idea. I have some native clematis growing up a fence and need to fill in along the edge of a stone wall - this chicken wire idea is just what will work. I would enjoy seeing more of your garden ideas.

Re: Win a copy of Designer Plant Combinations!

I love to share S. Calhoun's THE HOT GARDEN and YARD FULL OF SUN. He is a joy to read as well as to view his amazing photos. Wonderful inspirations - can't wait for this book as well.

Re: Could YOU Keep A Straight Face? Coyote Pee Interview

Shake Away did not have results for me in southwest UT. Instead, I redeposit my native fox's scat into newly dug gopher tunnels. Results are fewer new tunnels.
