I started gardening when I was 27 and we moved into an apartment with a patio that included a garden strip. When we moved to a house, I had a vegetable garden and a flower garden. As I read gardening articles, I became interested in creating a four season border garden. My goals were to create a sense of privacy, to attract birds, butterflies, and hummingbirds, and to screen unsightly views. I started this project in 2002 and it has become a passion. I've been rewarded with a lot of interest in the garden as well as a much loved hobby.

My winter garden

My garden in Massachusetts under a blanket of snow or ice.  The shadow of a tree shows up on the snow under a full moon.

My dahlia bed.
