Re: Taking On Lawn Alternatives With The Garden Designers Roundtable
Great to see you review the Re-Imagining book. While the plant material is certainly regional-centric, the ideas are universal and come from experts who have been practicing this for decades.

Anyone will read War and Peace if it is all about yourself. Thanks for the praise but you went a bit overboard about my own garden...

Re: Scotts Miracle-Gro Stole My Ammo
Scott's is obviously smart to jump on the bus, or on the money train as I am sure they see it. Not only are consumers asking for for organic ways to work their gardens, the buyers for some independent nursery centers are downright hostel to the chemical providers. Scotts needs these people.
posted: 1:05 pm on September 17thBut for the foreseeable future, the biggest sales come from chemical sales to big box stores and mass merchandizing. This is still where they put most of their advertising and make most of their sales. As Susan Harris has said, their advertising is spent on creating demand for chemicals while they monitor and cater to the "green" movement. McDonalds advertises their salads in certain markets but profits from the burgers and sodas.
