Re: Travels with Victoria
What an amazing plant and a great story!
posted: 6:02 pm on March 27thYour readers in Westchester County and Fairfield County, NY will be able to get a touch of indoor green magic this weekend and outdoors landscaping inspiration, if they attend the Spring Home Show at the Westchester County Center, Saturday, March 28, 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Sunday, March 29, 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Imagine transforming the rather industrial entranceway of the Westchester County Center in White Plains (intersection of Rt. 100 & Rt. 119) into a little bit of the 28-acre Wave Hill gardens in the Bronx. Throw in some palm trees to get the feel of the Enid Haupt Conservatory of the Bronx Botanical Garden. Create a border out of neatly-pruned boxwood. Install a gurgling fountain. Add more than a splash of spring color with favorite flowers in bloom. And voila! You've got a spectacular welcome to spring and a much-needed respite from New York's over-extended winter. This marvelous gateway has been created by Daniel Sherman Landscape Architect, Valhalla (danshermanlandscape.com), in partnership with Mariani Gardens of Armonk (www.marianigardens.com). More than 125 exhibitors will be participating.
