Re: The GPOD's 2nd birthday!
Happy Blogiversary! GPOD has become a habit for me too and an inspiration. Please keep on keeping on! (But by all means, go ahead and grab that nap first.)

So pretty! And now I know that my ninebark has been needing a Russian sage all along. Thanks!

I had no real idea how gorgeous that grass is until we planted a few this year. It's my new all time favorite. I hope it reseeds for us too!!

I recognize the Euphorbia as E. marginata "snow on the mountain" too but it's the straight species that reseeds for us. I'm unfamiliar with this adorable short one. I'm putting Summer Icicle on my must have list right now. And I LOVE this fence! (The plants more than the chainlink.)

Thank you, Mindy - Layanee's the best! I'll see about putting a handful of favorite shots together (how to choose?!) and meanwhile I hope you consider a visit either virtually (http://blog.blithewold.org) or for reals!

It's a wooly morning glory - Argyreia nervosa - and just about the coolest plant ever! The new growth is especially gorgeous - all silvery - and the leaves unfold like cards as they grow.

Brilliant! Love. Want. I wish my dead tree stumps were as accommodating.

This castor bean - 'Pretty Purple' (from Select Seeds) was supposed to only be 4' tall! Two out of three of ours are a good 7' by now but we have managed to keep one of the plants shorter by pinching it back - and it has branched beautifully. And we always take off the flowers so that it won't produce seeds - most of the plant's poison is found in the seeds (and they, unlike the plant, almost look tasty.)

Thanks all! And thanks, Michelle for your visit and kind words about my wacky (charming!) garden. It's funny about that buddleia - it never looked as blue to me before I moved it to that spot. It's just like someone with blue eyes wearing turquoise - the hydrangea really brings out its color.

Danielle, I'm so glad you came by and had a chance to hug our big baby! Speaking of babies... we recently found a nest of tiny bunnies in the Display Garden bed where you took some pics of "Mama". All are healthy and have plenty to eat... :p It was great to meet you and I hope you can stop through again soon!
