I live in zone 6 and have been gardening for about 25 years and still feel like a novice. I can't say that I have a favorite flower however I have 74 roses. In spite of our dry rocky soil the roses are the most faithful. I like to try new things but not always with good results! I'm not a pro and have never had a landscape designer but I subscribe to Fine Gardening. A lot of my ideas come from there. It's all I need.

Fresh Spring Day At The Lily Pond

Our Lily Pond In Clear Spring. Plants include hostas, azaleas, deutzia and ivy.

Flowering shrubs in spring include pink weigelia, white deuzia, pink azaleas, lavender rhodies and purple salvia.

Thank you! Sorry this reply is late but gardening has me busy. Ivy is what is growing over the stones. What you can't see in the picture are stepping stones in the path with moss in between.
