Catalog Review: Logee's Tropical Plants
For those of us within driving distance of Danielson, Connecticut, there's nothing like a trip to Logee's Tropical Plants. It's packed from room to room, wall to wall, with tons of awesome plants...
ANDREA: It's a plant. It's an air purifier. It's both.
Designer Mathieu Lehanneur and Harvard professor David Edwards have designed a product that takes the natural filtration process of a houseplant and kicked it up a notch.
A Garden Tour Guide is okay...
But I like to go at my own pace. That's why Scott Arboretum has made my list of awesome gardens to visit.
The Youthful Face of Farming
I like to see that farmers aren't a dying breed. There are still plenty of young dreamers out there who like to get their hands dirty.
Happy Garden Accidents
Several years ago, I convinced my mother to invest in two smoke bushes to frame the back porch of her home. I loved the deep maroonish grey color of the plant. This recommendation, however, was the first and last that she took without hesitation.
Go Green with Goats?
It's all over the web on sites like Treehugger and Grist. Even Fox News is covering it. Google has replaced their lawn maintenance crew with goats.
Chartreuse: A Slice of Sunshine
I haven't always been fond of chartreuse as a color. It surely doesn't look good on me, but on my plants it's oh so lovely. Now, I'm obsessed with it. Thrown in with the right mix of supporting colors and textures, chartreuse plants are a slice of sunshine for any corner.
Don't Judge Me (Or My Plant Picks)!
You wouldn't go up to someone on the street and say "Hey, your baby is ugly." I expect the same courtesy for my plants. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
My Begonia is Awesome!
'Cracklin Rosie' begonia steals the show whether it's popping out of an indoor container or making its home outdoors. Its curvaceous leaves, cool pink spots, and crazy new growth never fails to amaze me.
Look at that squirrel go!
It's one of those things that, at first, you just can't believe. Surely this isn't a real product, you think to yourself: A bird feeder that prevents squirrels from eating from it by flipping them...

Re: Formal with a touch of curves
PeonyFan and Laura_W - Both the sphere and the fountain were designed by Deborah Silver. You can purchase the steel sphere finished in acid wash patina from her shop, Detroit Garden Works (if you click on Deborah's name in the original post, it will take you directly to her site). I believe the fountain was created specifically for this garden, but you can always contact her for more info. She also operates the sister companies, Deborah Silver and Co. and Branch.

I'm glad to see I have some fellow pelargonium fans out there! But I can also appreciate that not everyone has my taste in plants. I'm stickin' to my guns on this one though (just like GardenWiseGuy said)! I'm loving this combo.
