Oh, and the other cool thing about this Water Garden was a staircase that was designed to be a waterfall. DuPont would line up his nieces & nephews & visitors to have a photo taken on the staircase and then have the water turned on, soaking everyone. The kind of mean uncle I aspire to be!

Thanks for the nice post! I'm sure I'd have the opposite culture shock growing things in CA. You mean I don't have to drag plants into the house, scraping floors and dealing with bugs? They stay out in nature? California must be a gardening heaven.
