This compact perennial forms a bush less than 1.5eet tall by 1 foot wide, with indigo stems and glossy green leaves. It bears deep, navy blue flowers on medium spikes from early summer to frost.

Noteworthy CharacteristicsSalvia are some of the showiest plants for containers and borders. The flowers are made up of two lips: the upper one forms a hood over whiskery stamens and the lower lip, which itself is wide and toothed. Butterflies and hummingbirds love them. 

CareProvide moist but well-drained soil in full sun to part shade.
