This compact, rounded shrub produces reddish-purple buds that first open as soft pink then mature to white. It grows to about 5 feet high and wide, making it a superb specimen for a container or small garden.

CareGrow in acidic, fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Cut back dead or diseased wood in midspring.

PropagationSow seed in a cold frame in spring or fall. Root greenwood cuttings in early summer or semi-ripe cuttings with bottom heat in mid to late summer.
