This genus’s sole member is Kerria japonica , sometimes called the Japanese rose. It is a deciduous shrub with alternate, simple leaves and yellow flowers that resemble roses. It spreads by suckers and its arching green shoots are attractive in winter. Grow in a shrub border or open woodland area.
