This cultivar has dark green leaves with a faint bronze sheen. Its narrow, dangling, red and purple flowers bloom throughout the season.
Noteworthy characteristics: Performs well in containers or as a hedge in frost-free regions.
Care: Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full morning sun to partial afternoon shade. Prune plants back to 12 to 18 inches in late winter to produce fresh foliage. May survive a zone colder if it is given an east-northeastern exposure, planted deeply, and mulched over the winter.
Propagation: Sow seed in spring; root softwood cuttings in spring, and semi-ripe cuttings in late summer with bottom heat.
