Summer-long bloom and a tough constitution make the mat-forming ice plant a perfect groundcover. Two-inch magenta blossoms with white anthers are produced in midsummer and late summer.
Care: Grow in sharply drained soil in full sun. Prefers a sheltered site, and dry conditions in winter.
Propagation: Take stem cuttings in spring or summer; sow seed at 70°F.
Problems: Mealybugs, aphids.

I have this and it is a good groundcover.Comes back every spring and i recommend it.It blooms all summer long too.Beautiful plant.....=}}}

The "Ice Plant" is a wonderful all-round plant for me. It blooms all summer long w/delicate pink blooms, on a succulent type of vine, kinda like a "Moss Rose". I've had one for years, in a huge pot that's full and leave it outside all winter in snow, cold, etc. and it comes back every Spring -- good as new! Also looks great in hanging baskets, small pots, etc. I live in Zone 6-7, so it's very hardy!
