when i bought this, it was blooming and was gorgeous. it smelled great, too. the next year, it grew like crazy, but no flowers. i've had it 5 years, now, and still no flowers, but it's huge. i bought it for the flowers, so, it's going bye-bye....

Yes an aggressive grower and it really climbs only wood well (masonry structures might need some help.)
Also draws humming birds and bees, wasps and ants.
Its a great plant, but not the best if its near a sitting area where those pests would be not welcome. It will attempt to take over nearby trees.
In zone 8, it is lush May to Oct.

Most invasive, sprouting up as far away as 20' from the trunk, and impossible to get rid of. Last plant to leaf out, and every leaf and newer branch falls off overnight at the first frost, so it's bare stems for 8 months. Needs pruning several times per season. Yes, it attracts hummers and Baltimore Orioles, but also yellow jackets and ants, and it drops its large sticky flowers all over my furniture.
