The strong dark black, metallic silver, and vivid purple coloration of 'Fireworks' makes it one of the most striking and popular of the new rex begonia cultivars available. Its silvery leaves are edged in purple and have a black burst of fireworks in the center. Use it in a container or shady garden, or grow it as a houseplant.
 Care: Provide organic, sharp-draining soil in shade with lots of humidity. Water when the soil is dry to the touch. Avoid soggy conditions, but do not allow the plants to wilt. Remove dead leaves promptly and keep the soil free of debris to avoid disease problems.
 Propagation: Stem cuttings will root in about 3 weeks in favorable conditions.
 Problems: Mildew, botrytis, mealybugs.
