We planted a 3-4' container plant on south side of our home in early spring 2004. It gets a lot of roof run off from a valley with no gutters. It has flourished and has grown to a height of 10'+. The deer browse lower limbs somewhat, but we have a very severe deer problem. Cut suckers once or twice a year. No fertilizer needed; mulch. Beautiful in 4 seasons. Spring flowers are somewhat brief. Nice summer green. Fall especially nice orange. We use as a deciduous screen for a bathroom window that faces a road, and it has served that purpose well.
