Lilian Ho creates with a group of master gardeners to bring holiday cheer to a local, long term care facility.

"Here are some holiday centerpieces and decorations that five of our master gardener volunteers made for the George Pearson Centre - a government owned long term care facility in Vancouver, BC.

One of our master gardener volunteers walked around the grounds at Pearson on Dec 7 and harvested branches of greenery to make holiday arrangements for the hospital.  Five of us went in on Dec 8 with more greenery from our gardens, making 13 arrangements (we took 4 home). This made enough for 6 wards and the reception desk.  The facility first used the Holiday Centerpieces for their holiday dinner and then distributed to the wards. We  provided all the supplies and we had no funding.

The same group, volunteered to maintain the garden on site during the growing season, for at least a decade with no funding. We brings extra plant materials from our own garden. We did have some donated funding to buy apple and maple trees for the site.

Happy Holidays!"
