hopflower writes: Gaura; definitely. I sell tons of it at work. It is a lovely plant! Posted: 8:42 pm on June 29th
EMURetiree writes: Gaura and it reseeds in Michigan Zone 5b too!! It is a very tough plant with one exception.....it doesn't like wet feet. grows like crazy here in dry soil and comes back each year like crazy. Posted: 4:42 pm on June 29th
RobinB writes: "Gaura" (note that this is the correct spelling if you want to look it up) has many different varieties that have different hardiness zones. They also seem to be VERY particular about drainage, which may be what kills them. I buy them as an annual to put in containers! Posted: 4:35 pm on June 29th

MsMadeline writes: In my garden in northern california I found that gaura reseeded everywhere! It is hardy here (Sunset zone 17 - the USDA zones don't tell you enough in the Bay area, but I think I am 7) I got rid of it, pretty as it is, because I got tired of the seedlings that very quickly establish themselves.

One book suggested dead-heading to avoid reseeding but I couldn't keep up with it. I wouldn't put it in a mixed border. If you are in a colder area that might slow it down. Posted: 4:13 pm on June 29th
shuttereye writes: Guara, for sure. Here in zone 8A, it does well, although, I did lose one before sucessfully growing two others. The flowers are so sweet and they twirl about like little butterflies. Posted: 4:08 pm on June 29th
sbbmaine writes: Tempermental in Zone 5b as well. Posted: 9:06 pm on June 26th
mooregreen writes: Guara is a Louisiana native plant. You will love it.But I must agree with the others its very tender.I replace it every year to remind me of home. Posted: 11:46 pm on June 25th
Vawildflowers writes: It is definetly Guara. It's a perennial here in Zone 7 and it's lovely! Posted: 12:31 pm on June 24th

rosarubrifolia writes: This is a Guara. And you are lucky if it is hardy in your zone. Here in zone4, we must purchase it every year. Posted: 8:41 pm on June 22nd
