Early plantings thrive easily in the favorable conditions provided by container gardening.
Fruits, vegetables, and herbs all do well in containers with the proper depth and placement.
Assorted herbs get healthy and hearty in rich soil within pots. The perennials were later placed in the ground and the annuals continue to be pot-grown each year to maintain control and quality.
One of many gourmet container mints to prevent excessive spreading and contaminating of each other.
I was able to grow everything from lettuces, strawberries, raspberries, peas, squash, to turnips and carrots in pots.

My first garden was when I was living in an apartment and trying to make the best of the small space. The rich soil I used resulted in excellent crop turnout. Later, when creating and forming my herb garden, I used containers to get plants established. In the case of the mints, it was prudent to keep them contained and from inter-mixing as I had over a dozen types of mint in a shady location.
