Blue Flower

I purchased this flower at our local market. It had no description on it nor did the girl know what it was. Any ideas?

cactuskiller writes: This is a Baby Blue Eyes--Nemophila menziesiie. The flowering doesn't last long, but the color is very "eye" catching--if you'll pardon the pun. Posted: 3:19 pm on June 11th

BCaruso writes: I wonder if this could be a photo of a delphinium of some sort? The buds and the leaves look like they could be in the larkspur/delphinium family. A picture of the blossoms from the side or the back would help by showing whether they have spurs... Posted: 9:42 am on May 31st
wenoel writes: There's a similarity with forget me not but I don't think it is. Is the foliage in the photo part of the same plant? That part doesn't look like forget me not at all. Forget me not flowers are quite small. How big are these flowers? Posted: 3:11 am on May 30th
abessellieu writes: I'm with frranross - it looks like forget-me-not (myosotis). There are dozens of species with some variation but most of the species have small, flat, blue flowers with 5 petals and a white eye just like yours. They prefer shade, and depending on where you live (and the species) they can be annual, bi-annual (coming back from seed) or perennial. They flower in spring and are food for the larvae of some beautiful butterflies.

Google myosotis and click on Images to see what they look like. Posted: 10:03 am on May 29th
