25 Robust Summer Bloomers
Container Gardening with Impatiens
comments (0) May 15th, 2009 in gallery
My garden always has loads of colorful impatiens. I don't think you can beat their colorful blooms that provide summer-long mounds of brilliant color. I tuck them in little spaces between shrubbery, and here and there in a corner, or under the hanging branches of an abelia. This photo is of a pot of bright orange impatiens sitting in a rusted out bird bath that I recycled into a plant stand. The impatiens now sits high above the shrubs providing a tall spot of color and a few inches of water in the birdbath keeps the impatiens cool and moist on a hot Texas summer day.
