I have had great results with raised bed garding. I wanted to build something that would set me apart from the usual -railroad ties. So, I designed these raised beds using treated 2x4s and corrugated tin. The results have been great .... lots of compelements and a water saver too ....  thats important in South Texas. Last Fall one raised bed (6plants) produced over 400 tomatoes ....
All of my raised beds are in the front yard. I have lots of sun and this once wasted space has been transformed into a garden of tasty treats all year round.
I have a total of 5 raised beds this spring all filled with different vegitables & herbs. And, I also have plans to expan this concept of raised beds into all of my front yard .... fresh produce! Its best way to go!

Raised bed gardening is the only way to go in South Texas with dry summers I can now have a vegitable garden that doesn't need watering all the time and it adds beauty to my property. Every day a new visitor is complementing me on my garden. I like to share so my friends enjoy the eatables as well .... I am getting a name for myself as having the best tomatoes in my hood!

You raised the bar in home gardening and planting boxes/ raised beds. I would love to learn how you created these masterpieces (raised beds) as well. Ella Posted: 8:10 pm on October 11th
