April: Daisy
comments (0) April 13th, 2008 in blogs
If you were born in April, your birth flower is daisy. Daisies open with the sun and close at dark, which is how they get their common name: "Day's eye."
Many people think that all daisies are Chrysanthemums, but that's not true. The genus was split into several genera about a decade ago and include Chrysanthemum, Dendranthemum and Leucanthemum.
For more on the various plants we know (and love) as "daisies," including information on how to grow them in your garden, check out this article: Perennial Daisies.
See all birth flowers/plants:
January: Carnation, February: Iris, March: Daffodil, April: Daisy, May: Lily of the Valley, June: Rose, July: Delphinium, August: Gladiola, September: Aster, October: Pot Marigold, November: Chrysanthemum, December: Paperwhite
