production writes: i have made these leaves with rhubarb on a pile of sand, then the leaf, then cover with cement dry, then turn over and peel the leaf out of the grooves and wowow you have a shallow water holder for birds, butterflies etc. you can set it right on the ground. i put a water sealer on mine to protect from the elements and also so stains won't set in the cement, you can also put dye in the cement to color them, there is no end to the effects you can do. i first saw this in Garden Gate mag. and have always kept it for reference, i make them for anxiously awaiting gifts every summer please try one they are great and impressively beautiful since the leaves are natures' beauties. MuffettG writes: I have seen this done with a huge Rhubarb leaf, not in person, in a magazine. I'd love to try this as I am willing to try things until I get them right. Looks like a project though.I have Fibromyalgia and garden when I am up to it.Gardening is my hobby as well as my two dogs which I adopted and my two aquairums I have to look at and watch the larger fish have fry and have a smaller tank for them.It sure is a thrill to see these things grow and flourish.I just love to do these kind of things. Now let's see if I can get this leaf done before I poop out, or get awful pains all over my body. Wish me luck. Posted: 7:25 pm on July 27th
floweringangel writes: Haven't I seen this amazing work in a magazine? The article spoke of how the artist took the impression to make the leaf
and then create the mold. Some were left in the ground as paver/stepping stones, are you this artist? Wow, if you are
small world? I just visited your web site and was very impressed, no need to explain the lack of credentials, they matter little anymore, what you have is desire and god given talent. I will be ordering from you as soon as I carve out a place of importance in my garden and find a fixture to create a fountain from one of your leaves for my Mom's place on the Cape.
