Herbs after the summer rain

Photo: growing in my herb boxes on my deck

We took 2 very large wooden flower boxes off the front of the house when we remodeled. They hold 8 rectangular window box liners. I moved them to my upper narrow deck facing south all day. It's so hot almost nothing would grow there so I had the idea that the herbs would do well instead of flowers. I have a fabulous herb garden evey year there now. Perfect solution since they have no weeds at all growing in the boxes. They look neat and grow to a very large healthy size with no bugs to speak of, being on the second story.  There is a hose mounted on the second story of the house which makes it very easy to water and clean off the deck. I will post more photos this spring when I get them full and all growing. I use these herbs evey day when I cook, what a difference they make in flavor.

Nice photos.
