I walked out to my garden one morning and there this plant was... it sprouted overnight and was laying on the ground. I unearthed what looked like an off white colored encasement that this plant came out of (you can see it in the picture). This encasement was anchored into the soil with one thin white root.

I walked out in my garden the next day, and there was another one. It has been several days and that is all there is. Just 2.

I don't know what to even put in a search engine to find out what plant this is. Any ideas?

SwheetHrt1 writes: CBzzz, it looks like you have a stinkhorn fungus. I had one in my garden last year. You may want to get it out of your yard, because they can spread. Here is a link for more info. Good Luck!
