Fine Gardening and Havahart® know how annoying deer, rabbits, and a host of other hungry critters can be in the garden -- especially at this time of the year. So, we've teamed up to offer you the chance to win a humane pest defense system! Up for grabs are a total of three systems: One Spray Away Elite Spinkler for our first-prize winner and one Spray Away Sprinkler for two runners-up.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Create a pinboard on Pinterest under the 'Gardening' category and call it "My Fine Gardening Pest-Free Pin Garden"

2. Using 5 to 10 photographs, create a plant combination on your board. You must use one or two plants that critters have bothered in your garden, describing your situation in the captions. Style, composition, and plant palette will be the determining factors that hep the editors separate the winning combinations from the rest. All but one of these plant images must come from FineGardening.com or Fine Gardening's Pinterest boards. Check out our Plant Guide to locate lots of these images you need to compete.

3. (Optional) Pin an image, from anywhere, of the critters that most plague your garden. We've included some common pests on the board for your use; Havahart's Pinterest page features some cute critters too.

4. Once you've completed your design, post a link to your Pest-Free Pin Garden in the comments section under the official contest pin on Fine Gardening's Pin The Pests Away Challenge board. Be sure that you're a follower of Fine Gardening on Pinterest: It's necessary for eligibility.

Here's what you might win:

The winner gets a Spray Away Elite Sprinkler and two runners-up get a Spray Away Sprinkler. Both systems sense approaching pests and scare them off a a sudden and harmless gush of water. It's genuis!

We installed a sprayer like this and it was brilliant! Our lawn and plants grew in again and we were finally able to use our dock without worrying about where to step!
